We recommend that all of our tenants carry renters insurance. The landlord’s insurance takes care of any structural damage to your apartment as the result of a fire and weather related damage.
The landlord’s policy does not cover damage to or loss of a tenants personal property due to fire, weather, vandalism and theft. That’s where a renters insurance policy comes in.
Renters insurance also protects tenants from a few kinds of liability if someone is injured in the tenants apartment.
Renters insurance is generally inexpensive and provides the tenant with a valuable protection when it is needed most.
